Technology has improved in so many ways over the past few years.  Think about how far computers and Bluetooth have advanced, hearing aids are no different.  Our average hearing aid wearer keeps getting younger and younger at Cornerstone Audiology due to early detection of hearing loss as well as exceptional technology.

Different Styles of Hearing Solutions:

Lyric Hearing Aids are extended wear hearing devices that our audiologists place in your ear and leave in your ear for 8-10 weeks at a time.  You sleep in the hearing device and shower in the device.  They are 100% invisible and have excellent sound quality.  Lyric is meant for mild to severe hearing loss and many patients in our office LOVE the convenience of this device.

Invisible-in-Canal (IIC) hearing aids are, as they say, completely invisible. Custom-fit to sit deep inside your ear canal, they provide a viable hearing solution for mild to moderate hearing loss and are very cosmetically appealing.  They use a size 10 battery and do not offer Bluetooth options due to their small battery size, but are a great option for patients who want a hearing aid they remove every day and no one can see!

Close in design to the IIC is the Completely-in-Canal (CIC), this hearing solution is slightly larger than the IIC and can fit a more severe hearing loss.  It is usually slightly visible, but easy to remove and a viable option for cosmetic concerns.

In-the-Canal (ITC) and ITE (In the Ear) devices fit a more severe type of hearing loss and are custom made for the patients ear.  They are larger and move visible but offer Bluetooth connectivity and are beneficial for patients with limited dexterity as they have a larger battery.

Our most popular hearing device is the Receiver-in-Canal (RIC).  It is barely visible when worn and hosts a small over the ear hearing aid with a clear receiver into the ear canal.  This device fits almost every degree of hearing loss and has excellent options for Bluetooth connectivity. It is our most versatile option for better hearing

BTE (Behind the Ear) is appropriate for severe to profound hearing loss.  It is a powerful device that sits over the ear and connects to a custom earmold inside the ear canal.  BTEs are now also Bluetooth compatible
